What are the 3 main purposes of a text?
What do I need to ask myself when trying to identify this type of  author’s purpose?
What type of language might I find in a text with this purpose?
1.that richie mccaw wants a flag change.




What is the author's purpose
persuasive because the language in the Text
-that it was used in alot of situations
-that its iconic to us
-that its got the union jack on it
2.that the fridge stinks




What is the author's purpose
Entertaining because the type of language
-that it was funny
-they were tying to entertain there audiance
-it was based for the litle kids
3.that she is a lot more fit than the average 13 year olds




What is the author's purpose
persuasive because of the type of language
-that she is more fit then any other kid her age
-that you can do more if you try
-your better then what you think

Striking and Feilding

WALT: Apply Striking and Fielding activities in a range of sports and activities.

My Strengths Striking because if I don't want to hit it hard I can do that and if I want to hit it hard i can if I want to.

The striking strategies I was able to effectively demonstrate during the games we played were……. hitting hard and holding the bat pro pally

The throwing and catching strategies I was able to effectively demonstrate during the games we played were…….I caught it with both hands. I throw the ball with power and accuracy

My Next Steps

To improve my striking of a ball I need to hit it in the centre of the ball because then it can be hit harder and further.


To Improve my catching and fielding I need to watch the ball all the way because stop watching it half way through


The game that I enjoyed the most was rounders because I played better then i had ever.

Leadership - year 8

We have been working in the food forest we have been taking out all of the weeds and tidying up the food 
forest and maize maze. We did it because it needed a bit of a tidy up. We have been doing it for 2 days now and we have 1 more to go. My opinion is that it was a waste of our time and it would of been done way quicker if Mr M did it with the lawn mover because most of it was grass in the Food Forest.



The way i showed leadership was i was the one that suggested to use the wheel barrow and it helped A LOT.
